Job Title: Accounting Manager

Our client, a leading supplier and manufacturer of building materials, known for quality craftsmanship and dependable service. This company serves commercial and residential construction markets. Position Summary
The Accounting Manager will oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This is a hands-on role responsible for the integrity and accuracy of financial records and supporting the company's strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
-Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting
-Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
-Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support operational and strategic decisions
-Oversee accounting and inventory valuation for building material products
-Reconcile bank statements, credit lines, and inter-company transactions
-Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
-Manage annual audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
-Improve and maintain internal controls, financial processes, and accounting system. Support management in pricing, margin analysis, and capital expenditure planning
-Lead and mentor junior accounting staff or bookkeepers as needed
Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
-6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing, distribution, or building materials
-Experience with financial and inventory systems
-Proficiency with accounting software (NAV) (Business Control) and Excel
-Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
-Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

-Preferred Experience:
-Background in construction supply, lumber, or building products industry.
-Experience working in a private, closely held business environment
Location: Parsippany, N.J.
Compensation: 115k-130k plus Bonus and all Benefits
