Barrett Material MWC is seeking a reliable and skilled Asphalt Distribution Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting, delivering, and applying liquid (tack coat) asphalt products to various job sites while ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to company policies and regulations.
• Operate a commercial truck to transport and apply liquid asphalt materials (tack coat) to designated locations.
• Ensure all loads are secure and meet safety standards prior to departure.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including quantities and delivery locations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and potential issues.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and company policies concerning safety and compliance.
• Assist with loading and unloading of materials as necessary.
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to asphalt distribution and safety practices.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and equipment.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A or B) with a Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement and a clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a truck driver, preferably in the construction or materials distribution industry.
• Knowledge of asphalt products and distribution practices is a plus.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if necessary.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
• Prolonged periods of sitting, driving, and performing physical tasks.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
