Corporate Private Equity/M&A Associate
Practice Area/Medical Unit: Corporate – Mergers & Acquisitions / Private Equity
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Schedule: 360 Hybrid based on firm policy; full-time with standard billable expectations (~2,000+ annually)
Salary: Estimated base range of $260,000 to $420,000 with performance-based annual bonuses.

Global leader in M&A and private equity transactions, representing global corporations, private equity sponsors, and portfolio companies across diverse industries. The Los Angeles office is a key player in executing high-profile deals on the West Coast and internationally.
Description:
This role focuses on advising private equity funds and corporate clients in connection with acquisitions, dispositions, recapitalizations, minority investments, and other complex transactions. You will handle all stages of the deal lifecycle—drafting purchase and ancillary agreements, managing due diligence, leading negotiations, and coordinating multi-jurisdictional closings. You’ll also advise clients on general corporate governance and compliance matters. The position offers high levels of responsibility, early client contact, and a clear track for advancement to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school; CA Bar admission or eligibility to obtain promptly.
Preferred class years: 2018–2022 (mid-level) or 2015+ (senior lateral).
Proven track record in private equity buyouts, M&A, and related transactions.
Strong drafting, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Experience managing multiple workstreams across cross-functional teams.
Comfort working directly with clients and handling significant responsibilities autonomously.
Industry-specific experience (media, entertainment, tech, or healthcare) a plus.
