THIS IS A RE-ADVERTISEMENT FOR CHIEF ENGINEER I.  IF YOU PREVIOUSLY APPLIED FOR JC- 476772, YOU DO NOT NEED TO SUBMIT ANOTHER APPLICATION, AS YOU WILL STILL BE CONSIDERED.

Under general direction of the Chief of Plant Operations, the Chief Engineer I leads a crew of Stationary Engineers, Maintenance Mechanics, and Electrician in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the heating, ventilating, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems, including a central chiller plant, and other mechanical and power equipment at the California School for the Deaf, Riverside.

The incumbent will adhere to Department policies, rules and procedures, contract monitoring, submit administrative requests including leave, travel, and training in a timely and appropriate manner; accurately report time, and submit time sheets by the due date. Will work to ensure that health and safety requirements are given the highest priority for job completion. Will provide input and perform duties related to campus projects, construction, and repair work. May assist the Building Trades Supervisor and Chief of Plant Operations in acquiring quotes and submitting requisitions for materials and supplies. Responsible in part for keeping tools and equipment in good condition, maintains records, and prepares reports. Works individually or with others performing tasks related to facilities HVAC maintenance.

Work schedule: 0600-1430 M-F, however may be required to work outside of normal business hours to provide continuity of operations.

**EXAMINATION**
