SUMMARY: The Division Manager West oversees shipments, depletions, and revenue growth in the assigned territory of California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii and Alaska. This position is responsible for managing the distributor network to deliver shipment, depletion, distribution, and revenue objectives, as well as achieving assigned personal objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•  Lead and manage all sales activities across the Western U.S. region, including distributor management, account development, and retail execution
•  Build and maintain strong relationships with distributor partners to ensure alignment on goals, programming, and brand priorities
•  Develop and execute regional sales strategies to drive volume, distribution, and visibility of the company’s portfolio across on- and off-premise channels
•  Monitor and analyze sales performance, depletion data, pricing, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and address challenges proactively
•  Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and National Accounts to support integrated brand initiatives and maximize market impact
•  Oversee and support local market programming, events, and incentives in coordination with distributor sales teams and key accounts
•  Provide regular coaching, support, and direction to any direct reports and field sales representatives within the region
•  Ensure compliance with brand standards, pricing guidelines, and state regulatory requirements
•  Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews and forecasts to senior leadership
•  Travel regularly throughout the territory to maintain in-market presence and drive execution excellence

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•  A four-year college degree and/or equivalent work experience enabling the candidate to perform job responsibilities as required. (Equivalent work experience may include supplier, distributor, or beverage industry management and/or Consumer Product Goods management)
•  Ten plus (10+) years’ experience in wine sales preferred
•  Experience managing a distributor network across broad geographic territories preferred
•  National & Regional on-premise and off-premise chain headquarter call experience preferred
•  Experience with exclusive and/or private labels is preferred
•  Demonstrated knowledge of retail chain, category management and three-tier distribution system
•  Proficient written communication skills. Candidate must possess the ability to develop and provide all necessary written reports, correspondence, and presentations necessary to satisfy job requirements
•  Proficient oral communication and interpersonal skills. Candidate must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Candidate must articulate in a professional, transparent, and authentic manner while representing Scheid Family Wines to trade partners, clients, and customers
•  Possess a working knowledge of a personal computer, working within Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and any other company software is critical to the success of this position
•  Mathematical skills: Candidate must have the ability to calculate and interpret financial data which affects Scheid Family Wines’ everyday business
•  Interpretive skills: Candidate must possess the ability to define problems, establish facts and collect data to interpret issues, draw valid conclusions from the data and recommend solutions to the business problem. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of statistical information, including, but not limited to IRI and A.C. Nielsen

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
•  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and/or keyboard. Required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to see, taste, and smell (wine products in particular). Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This job requires use of the computer and phone.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
•  Must possess valid driver’s license and maintain acceptable driving record
•  Ability to travel extensively to support sales across assigned region
•  Employee must comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations which govern the alcoholic beverage industry and maintain at all times the highest ethical business standards and fiduciary duty on behalf of the company and its customers
