Position: HR Generalist

Base Salary: $75K+ DOE

Location: Northern Alabama

Work Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt

Job Summary

The HR Generalist is responsible for overseeing HR operations, employee relations, compliance, and talent management. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role will lead HR initiatives, ensure legal compliance, and support leadership and team members in fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities HR Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and implement HR strategies that align with business objectives.
• Provide training and coaching to employees to enhance professional growth.
• Lead and mentor HR team members to foster collaboration and skill development.
• Promote a positive work environment with open communication and mutual respect.

HR Operations, Payroll, & Compliance

• Oversee payroll processing, salary calculations, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Ensure HR policies are up to date and effectively communicated to employees.
• Conduct HR audits to ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
• Maintain organization charts and employee directories.

Employee Relations & Engagement

• Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and ensure workplace harmony.
• Implement employee retention strategies, including engagement programs and recognition initiatives.
• Oversee performance appraisal processes and work with managers to support employee development.
• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) regulations.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

• Manage the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, interviews, and hiring decisions.
• Develop and execute effective talent acquisition strategies based on market trends.
• Lead onboarding programs to integrate new employees and ensure a smooth transition into the company.

Compensation & Benefits Management

• Design and maintain a competitive compensation strategy based on market research and salary surveys.
• Administer employee benefits programs and propose improvements as needed.
• Ensure compliance with tax, benefits, and welfare regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in HR Generalist roles.
• SHRM certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HR laws, compliance, and labor relations.
• Experience with payroll processing and benefits administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR software.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• International mindset and ability to work in a diverse workplace.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and educate office staff on HR's role in business success.
• High level of adaptability, resilience, and a problem-solving mindset.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Occasionally required to lift or move items up to 15 pounds.
• May need to work outside standard business hours, including weekends and holidays, or travel for business when necessary.

Additional Information

• Holidays & PTO:
  • 8 days of paid U.S. major holidays and Employee's Birthday.
  • A partially company-paid summer vacation, and a fully company-paid winter vacation.
  • PTO: 5 days for employees with less than 1 year, 10 days for employees with less than 5 years (based on tenure).
  • Work Hours: 8:30 AM 5:30 PM (Including 1 hour of unpaid lunch break)
