Key Job Duties of a Life Enrichment Director:

Program Development & Coordination:

• Plan, develop, and implement daily, weekly, and monthly activity calendars.
• Coordinate recreational, social, educational, spiritual, and wellness programs.
• Ensure activities are engaging, inclusive, and meet the diverse needs and abilities of residents.

Resident Engagement:

• Get to know residents' interests, abilities, and histories to tailor programs.
• Encourage and facilitate resident participation in activities.
• Promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity.

Staff & Volunteer Management:

• Train and supervise activity assistants and volunteers.
• Schedule staff and delegate tasks to ensure smooth execution of events.

Collaboration:

• Work with other departments to coordinate events.
• Communicate with families to involve them in special events or provide updates.

Budget Management:

• Plan and manage the life enrichment/activities budget.
• Purchase supplies and manage inventory for activities and events.

Community Building:

• Organize outings, guest speakers, performers, and intergenerational activities.
• Plan large community events such as holiday parties, birthday celebrations, and theme days.

Innovation & Improvement:

• Stay up to date with trends in elder care, wellness, and enrichment.
• Seek resident feedback to improve and adapt programs.
