Job Description

St. Stephen's Episcopal School, a day and boarding school of 710 students (grades 6-12), is seeking a Middle and Upper School Ceramics Teaching Artist for a full-time position beginning August 1, 2025.

Teaching and other responsibilities:

• Teach six half-credit sections of Middle and Upper School Ceramics -- each section meets three days out of a seven day rotation;
• Contribute to two other areas of school life, including athletic or extracurricular programs;
• Serve as a student advisor, supervise students during lunchtime, study halls, recess periods (if applicable), afternoon activities, library, Chapel and assembly programs required of the students, serve as a chaperone at student events, participate in student retreats, community service days, and attend team meetings, as assigned.

Qualified candidates will be multifaceted teachers with experience in a similar role. They will also have the following:

• A Bachelor’s degree with a strong preference for graduate-level work;
• Working knowledge of kiln maintenance and glaze chemistry;
• Demonstrated understanding of the developmental nuances associated with students in grades 6-12.
