Join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals and make a meaningful impact in patient care. We are seeking a Hospital Lab Technician II (HLT II) to support our Ambulatory Clinic team. Under the general supervision of the Clinic Manager, the HLT II plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care by performing a wide range of technical and non-technical laboratory procedures.
In this role you will:
+ Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection on patients of all ages.
+ Accurately label, centrifuge, aliquot, and receive specimens for analysis; identify and follow up on any unacceptable specimens.
+ Conduct laboratory tests and procedures according to established protocols, ensuring timely and accurate results.
+ Complete computer order entry tasks with a high level of accuracy.
+ Assist in validating and implementing new lab processes, equipment, and software.
+ Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries and offering accurate, helpful information.
+ Maintain and review equipment and maintenance records for accuracy and compliance.
+ Assess overall workload and proactively support team members without direct supervision.
Salary Range: $32.77- 43.22/hourlyQualifications
Required:
+ Certified Phlebotomy Technician
+ High School Diploma
+ At least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience performing phlebotomy for a high-volume testing laboratory
+ Knowledge of accepted analytical practices, weighing, solution preparation, calculations, etc.
+ Skill in using a PC computer and assorted software programs, including Outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email and internet as well as standard office equipment. Ability to use office equipment such as: personal computer, calculator, phone, photocopier, fax, scanner, printer, etc.
+ Skill in performing venipunctures (Requires a CPT certificate).
+ Skill in developing and maintaining files/records, such as reagent preparation, quality control, and instrument maintenance records, procedure development, etc.
+ Ability to judge what information should be passed on to a different level of staff, i.e., Senior Specialist, Senior Supervisor and initiate appropriate and complete communication.
+ Ability to recognize when an instrument, procedure, or piece of equipment is not functioning properly and initiate corrective action.
+ Skill in performing and teaching those procedures in use in the assigned section (didactic, practical)
+ Skill in performing related computer procedures (LIS, HIS).
+ Skill in operating and repairing the equipment in use in the assigned section.
+ Knowledge of quality control methods, theories, calculations, and limitations.
+ Knowledge of all safety precautions necessary in working in a laboratory environment to include work with chemicals, equipment (mechanical and electrical), biological samples, radioactive materials (where applicable), etc.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology (anatomy, medical conditions, symptoms, test methods, treatment).
