About Clayco Design and Engineering
Clayco Design and Engineering (CDE) was created to diversify and grow Clayco’s industrial business unit’s capabilities with a focus on efficiently delivering robust design-build architectural and engineering solutions. The Clayco Design and Engineering team brings a tremendous amount of engineering expertise to the Clayco enterprise from a wide array of industrial segments such as food & beverage, consumer products, manufacturing, and life-science products.

The Role We Want You For
The Process Designer II will provide CADD support in 2D and 3D for the process department. Must be fluent with AutoCAD and Plant3D. Knowledge of Revit is a plus.

The Specifics of the Role

  • Perform drafting and design activities in order to develop piping drawings, P&ID’s and GA’s from basic sketches and preliminary engineering information.
  • Field Design work to ascertain current conditions, locate new systems, equipment, tie-ins & communicate with client personnel.
  • Prepare material take-offs from piping drawings.
  • Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly.
  • On-site assistance during startup.
  • Perform field design work to ascertain current conditions, locate new systems, communicate with client personnel and assist in construction
  • Plan and manage site design investigation activities for optimum results.
  • Draft utility and process piping drawings, P&ID’s and GA’s.
  • Provide 3D design support on industrial projects, piping and equipment.
  • Cut Isometric and Orthographic drawings from the model.
  • Support the creation of interdepartmental standards including templates, borders, standard operating procedures and training documentation.

Requirements

  • Drafting/Technical computer aided drafted degree from accredited institution.
  • 5+ years’ industrial project experience.
  • Working knowledge of 2D, 3D AutoCAD. Knowledge of Revit is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASME, API) and safety principles.
  • Problem-solving skills to independently resolve design challenges while balancing efficiency and cost.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with teams and clients.
  • Ability to manage tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
