Job Summary and Qualifications

As an RN in Intake at our Behavioral Health Center you will be leading a team that has a passion for creating positive patient interactions and a dedication to caring for the multi-faceted wellness of those we serve.

In this role:

  • You will assess and evaluate patient information to determine the best course of treatment.
  • You will screen patients from the Emergency Room and will also be available to assess and evaluate patients referred from other hospital units.
  • You will act as liaison to the community mental health or other appropriate agencies to triage and quickly facilitate appropriate placement.
  • You will streamline and facilitate patient placement into the Behavioral Health department if warranted or refer to an appropriate community agency.
  • You will provide patients with adequate crisis intervention and safety planning if the patient is not being admitted.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse
  • Drivers License
  • Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
  • 1 year of experience as a nurse with preference given to candidates with past mental health experience or passion in that area.
