About the Role:
As a Senior Systems Administrator, you'll be on the front lines of defending our nation's cyberspace. You'll leverage your deep technical expertise to establish and manage secure networks, implement cutting-edge solutions, and maintain critical systems that support our warfighters. Working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, you'll tackle complex challenges, mentor team members, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
What You'll Do:
Design, implement, and maintain robust Linux environments, ensuring the security and stability of critical systems.
Build and maintain virtual environments using VMware, optimizing resource utilization and enhancing system flexibility.
Support national cyber missions, contributing to both offensive and defensive operations within organizations like US Cyber Command (USCC) or service cyber components.
Apply your advanced skills and industry knowledge to develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
Work independently and contribute effectively to team projects, demonstrating your ability to take initiative and deliver results.
Mentor and supervise team members, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of growth and learning.
Support Windows and Linux systems engineering efforts, contributing to system design, evaluation, solution engineering, software development, and system administration.
Continuously learn new skills and techniques, staying at the forefront of evolving technologies and cybersecurity threats.
Identify and implement database solutions and improvements, enhancing data management and accessibility.
Be flexible and adaptable, as shift work may be required to support 24/7 operations.
What You'll Bring:
5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Linux environments.
2+ years of experience building and maintaining virtual environments using VMware.
Experience supporting national cyber missions in offensive or defensive capacities, ideally with organizations like USCC or service cyber components.
A TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
A high school diploma or GED and 7+ years of experience in Information Technology, or a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in Information Technology.
DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification, including Security+ CE.
Bonus Points For:
Experience operating and maintaining Microsoft Windows and Linux servers.
Experience as a Network Administrator or Systems Engineer.
Experience with Assured Compliant Assessment Solution (ACAS) or Tenable Nessus security scanners.
Knowledge of different layers of the technology stack, including network, application frameworks, database systems, and vendor solutions.
