We're looking for an experienced Underwriting Supervisor to guide and develop a team of skilled underwriters specializing in commercial trucking insurance. What You'll Do:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of underwriters, fostering a supportive and high-performance culture.
Oversee the evaluation of new and renewal business to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and profitability targets.
Provide expert guidance on complex or high-value accounts.
Track team performance and implement strategies to meet or exceed goals.
Work closely with marketing, claims, and risk management teams to develop customized solutions for clients.
Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners.
Stay ahead of industry trends and adjust underwriting strategies accordingly.
Ensure all regulatory requirements and company policies are met.
Participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations of team members.
Willingness to travel up to 40%.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
At least 5 years of experience in commercial underwriting, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of the commercial trucking insurance industry, including risk assessment and pricing strategies.
Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
Professional designations such as CPCU, AU, or ARM are a plus.
